Ukraine Creates an Unprecedented New Branch of the Military: Unmanned Systems Forces
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced on June 11, that Ukraine became the first country to create a new branch of the armed forces to oversee unmanned systems, including drones and robots.
The newly appointed commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Colonel Vadym Sukharevskyi—who we earlier interviewed—noted that Ukraine is studying the experience of modern warfare and immediately implementing changes.
"We have a good prospect for victory in the war against Russia. We can achieve this victory thanks to your intellect, your perseverance, and what you do to protect the lives and health of our military personnel, increasingly involving robots and unmanned systems in performing combat missions in the air, on land, and at sea," added Ivan Havryliuk, Deputy Minister of Defense.
