Ukrainian Air Force units carried out a precision strike against the Kremniy EL microelectronics plant in Bryansk, destroying key production facilities used to support Russia’s military industry, according to footage released by the General Staff on March 10.

The attack was conducted using Storm Shadow/SCALP long-range cruise missiles, which struck the facility’s main production buildings.

Video published by the Ukrainian military shows the moment of impact and the resulting destruction inside the industrial complex, according to Ukrainian military outlet Militarnyi.

During the operation, a Ukrainian drone conducted aerial reconnaissance and strike assessment over the city without interference. Based on the distinctive control interface visible in the footage, the UAV is believed to be produced by the Ukrainian defense company Ukrspecsystems.

The reconnaissance mission was conducted by operators from the “Raid” unit of the Separate Regiment of Unmanned Systems, part of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces.

The footage indicates that the factory’s main production workshop sustained heavy damage, with parts of the structure destroyed by the missile strike.

According to the Ukrainian General Staff, the attack was part of a broader campaign aimed at reducing Russia’s military-industrial capacity.

The strike took place in the evening of March 10, when residents across Bryansk reported a large fire at the factory complex. Witnesses shared videos showing the arrival of cruise missiles and explosions at the site.

Ukrainian attacks, primarily using drones, had previously targeted the plant. However, earlier strikes were considered less effective.

Ukrainian forces reportedly attacked the facility six times in total, including several drone strikes in 2023 and renewed attacks in 2024, Militarnyi noted.

The Kremniy EL plant is the second-largest microelectronics producer in Russia, and roughly 90 percent of its output reportedly goes to the Russian defense ministry.

The company manufactures microelectronic components used in a wide range of military systems, including chips installed in cruise missiles and ballistic missiles.

The plant’s technology has also been used in Russian programs developing radar systems equipped with active electronically scanned array (AESA) antennas.

Available data indicate the company recorded about 3.9 billion rubles ($49 million) in revenue in 2021.

The Storm Shadow/SCALP EG missile used in the operation is a long-range air-launched cruise missile developed jointly by France and the United Kingdom.

The weapon is designed to penetrate advanced air defense systems and destroy heavily protected fixed targets such as command bunkers and strategic infrastructure.

The missile is about 5.1 meters long, weighs up to 1,300 kilograms, and carries a 450-kilogram warhead.

The British Storm Shadow and the French SCALP EG versions are largely identical, with differences primarily in software and the aircraft platforms used to launch them.

The export variant of the missile has a range of more than 250 kilometers, while the versions used by France and the United Kingdom can reportedly reach up to 560 kilometers.

Earlier, Russian “authorities” in Sevastopol began demolishing the Black Sea Fleet headquarters.

Heavy machinery has been deployed to the central hill of the city to dismantle the remnants of the structure, which served as the primary command-and-control hub for Russian naval operations until it was neutralized by a Ukrainian missile strike in late 2023.

The facility was rendered inoperable on September 22, 2023, during a Ukrainian special operation designated “Crab Trap.” According to the Special Operations Forces of Ukraine, the strike involved two Storm Shadow cruise missiles that hit the building during a high-level meeting of naval leadership.
