In the early hours of June 9, Russian forces launched a massive aerial assault on Ukraine, deploying a total of 499 munitions, including 479 attack drones and decoy UAVs of various types, along with 20 missiles, according to Ukraine’s Air Force Command.

The Air Force reported that the missile barrage included four Kh-47M2 Kinzhal ballistic missiles, ten Kh-101 cruise missiles, three Kh-22 cruise missiles, two Kh-31P anti-radiation missiles, and one Kh-35 cruise missile.

Ukraine reportedly neutralized 479 of the incoming targets—292 were shot down by air defense, while 187 were disabled through electronic warfare or lost communication.

The Air Force Command added that the Russian aerial weapons were confirmed to have struck 10 locations across Ukraine, while debris from intercepted targets fell in 17 additional areas.

As previously reported, the regions of Rivne, Kyiv, Poltava, and Dnipropetrovsk were among the areas targeted during the overnight attack.

In response to Russia’s intense aerial assault on Ukrainian territory, Polish and allied forces scrambled fighter jets.
