Ukraine Faces "Very Challenging" Situation on the Front Line, Says Zelenskyy
In his evening address on September 30, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy described the situation on the front line as "very challenging."
Zelenskyy reported holding more than two-and-a-half hours of talks with Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi and Chief of the General Staff Anatolii Barhylevych.
“The situation is very challenging,” he said. “The most important thing is to put pressure on Russia using all available means and tools to achieve our goal of a real and just peace for Ukraine and all our people as soon as possible.”
On September 28, Colonel Vladyslav Voloshyn, the spokesman of the Tavria operational-strategic group, reported on the national telethon that the Russian troops were preparing for assault operations in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Heavy fighting is currently taking place around 10 kilometers east of Pokrovsk, as Russian forces attempt to capture this strategically important city. Pokrovsk serves as a major logistical hub and occupies an elevated position, making it a priority target in the area.
