Ukraine Gains Control of 74 Settlements in Kursk, Says Zelenskyy

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine now controls 74 settlements in Kursk region.

"In constant communication with Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi: reports on the front line and our operation in the Kursk region. Despite the challenging and intense battles, our forces continue to advance in Kursk, and the exchange fund for our state is being replenished.

Ukraine controls 74 settlements. There, inspections and stabilization measures are being conducted. Humanitarian solutions for these areas are also being developed. I am grateful to our soldiers for their heroic service," Zelenskyy said.

On August 12, President of Ukraine for the first time directly stated that Ukraine is conducting an operation in the Kursk region of Russia.

According to Syrskyi, as of August 12th, the Ukrainian Armed Forces control nearly 1,000 km² of Russian territory. This is significantly more than previous reports that appeared in the media indicated.
