Ukrainian defense forces struck a facility used by Russian troops to assemble ground robotic systems in occupied Donetsk on March 8, according to Ukrainian defense outlet Militarnyi, citing Russian media in a report published March 10.

The attack reportedly targeted a site used by the 1st Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade (military unit 41680), causing significant structural damage and triggering detonations of stored ammunition.

According to the report, the strike hit a building on Kyivskyi Avenue in Donetsk, which previously housed a Ford car dealership. Russian forces had reportedly converted the structure into a workshop for assembling and maintaining ground-based military drones.

Two strike drones were used in the operation. The attack sparked a large fire inside the building, followed by a series of secondary explosions caused by weapons and ammunition stored at the site.

The strike reportedly resulted in irreversible losses among Russian personnel stationed at the facility.

According to the report cited by Militarnyi, a major and two junior sergeants from the 1st Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade were killed at the scene.

In addition, five other Russian servicemen were wounded, including a sergeant, two corporals, and two privates.

The fate of another corporal remains unclear, as he has reportedly been listed as missing following the strike.

Earlier, soldiers from the motorized infantry battalion of the 14th Mechanized Brigade destroyed a Russian hybrid battlefield system.

Ukrainian reconnaissance units detected a Russian ground robotic platform moving a 120-mm mortar toward Ukrainian positions. In response, Ukrainian forces deployed an FPV drone that successfully struck both the unmanned ground vehicle and the weapon it was transporting.
