Ukraine Liberates Five Villages in Dnipropetrovsk Region After 100-Day Offensive

Ukrainian forces have liberated five settlements in the Dnipropetrovsk region following a prolonged offensive operation against Russian troops, the military said on December 25.
The villages of Orestopil, Novoselivka, Sosnivka, Khoroshe and Vorone were liberated following an offensive led by the 225th Separate Assault Regiment, according to a statement released by the unit.

The regiment said the operation to retake the settlements lasted more than 100 days and was carried out during the autumn of 2025 with support from fighters of Ukraine’s 20th Army Corps.
Throughout this period, soldiers from the regiment’s 3rd Assault Battalion remained continuously on frontline positions while conducting counteroffensive actions.
“The operation to liberate these settlements lasted more than 100 days,” the regiment noted. “During this entire time, our fighters held their positions and consistently advanced forward.”

The unit described the operation as a rare case in which a single formation managed to hold positions without interruption for over three months while simultaneously pushing forward.
All service members who took part in the operation have been nominated for state awards, the statement added.
Earlier, it was reported that Ukraine’s special operations unit Lasar’s Group destroyed a Russian TOS-1A Solntsepyok heavy flamethrower system.
