Ukraine and Lithuania Sign Agreement to Collaborate on Drone, Ammunition Production
Ukraine and Lithuania inked a memorandum for joint drone production, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov reported on November 4.
This partnership agreement, signed by Umerov, Ukraine’s Minister of Strategic Industries Herman Smetanin, and Lithuanian Defense Minister Laurynas Kasčiūnas, aims to boost both countries' capabilities in UAV production and other defense technologies.
The agreement outlines collaboration on the production of drones and their components, ammunition, electronic warfare equipment, and advanced defense technologies.
During their meeting, the ministers also discussed specific plans to deepen cooperation further, focusing on expanding military support to Ukraine in 2025.
Additionally, during his visit to Kyiv, Kasčiūnas also delivered aid as part of Lithuania’s ongoing support for Ukraine’s defense efforts.
Lithuania provided 230 pickup trucks and 240 mine detectors to Ukraine’s Armed Forces under the Demining Coalition, which will aid Ukrainian sappers working in hazardous areas.
“Alongside Major General Oleksandr Yakovets and Major General Dmytro Hereha, we extend our gratitude to the people of Lithuania, their government, and Lithuanian volunteers who contributed to procuring this essential equipment,” Umerov said.
Earlier, Lithuania delivered a new pack of military aid to Ukraine, which included electricity generators, ammunition, mortar mines, and other crucial aid in preparation for the winter ahead.
