Lithuania is investing €10 million in the production of the "Palianytsia" rocket drone, following the "Danish model " of direct funding for a Ukrainian manufacturer.

This was announced by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

The funding mechanism was discussed during a meeting between Ukraine's Deputy Minister of Defense for European Integration, Serhii Boiev, and Lithuania's Deputy Minister of National Defense, Monika Koroliovienė.

"Developing the capability to strike enemy targets at long distances is one of Ukraine's top priorities. We encourage our partners to invest in our own production of long-range weapons. Investments modeled after the 'Danish model' will be implemented much faster, and the enemy will soon see the consequences," stated Deputy Minister Boiev.

He also expressed gratitude to the Lithuanian side for its leadership within the Demining Coalition and its active participation in the Drone Coalition.

"Lithuania remains a committed partner of Ukraine. Our goal is to provide effective assistance. Investments must be functional, so we are seeking the most practical applications for them," assured Deputy Minister Koroliovienė.

A visit from Lithuania's Minister of Defense, Laurynas Kasčiūnas, to Ukraine is expected soon, noted Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

Earlier on October 16, Lithuania's Ministry of Economy and Innovation signed a memorandum with a Ukrainian company to collaborate on the construction of a new-generation explosives manufacturing plant.
