Ukrainian-Made Palianytsia Rocket Drone Successfully Tested, Focus Shifts to Production

The Ukrainian-produced Palianytsia rocket drone has successfully completed testing and is now ready for production, said German Smetanin, Ukraine’s Minister of Strategic Industries, RBC-Ukraine reported on October 2.

Smetanin discussed the missile’s successful deployment on a national TV, noting that Ukrainian forces have already used Palyanytsia in combat, a fact also mentioned by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“There has been successful use of the rocket drone. The main task for the manufacturer now is to scale up production, so that more of these weapons can be delivered to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This is the key priority for our defense industry at the moment,” Smetanin said.

Ukraine has unveiled its first long-range rocket drone, called Palianytsia. The rocket drone’s range covers around 20 Russian airfields housing military aircraft. Most of its technical specifications are classified to prevent the Russians from assessing its full capabilities. The development took approximately 1.5 years and involved a large team of specialists from various fields.

Earlier, Ukrainian President said that Ukrainian-made weapons were used to blow up Russian military arsenals in Tver region and Krasnodar Krai.
