In his evening address on Sep. 21, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy confirmed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed two Russian military arsenals in Russia’s Tver region and Krasnodar Krai using Ukrainian-made weapons.

The President thanked Ukrainian soldiers and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), stating that “our ability to bring the war back home — to Russia” marks a turning point in the conflict. He added that these strikes were made possible “thanks to our capabilities, our weapons.”

“These were depots of Russian tactical missiles and guided aerial bombs — all the weapons Russia uses to terrorize our cities and positions,” Zelenskyy reported.

The President also emphasized that Ukraine’s defense could be further strengthened with long-range weapons and air-defense systems from its allies, as well as by granting permission to use them on Russian territory.

“If we could fully utilize all our capabilities to defend our country, if we had enough missiles and the permissions our partners can grant us, the situation would be much better for our security, for Ukraine, and for everyone in the world who opposes Russian aggression.”

Zelenskyy did not specify the type of munitions used in the strikes, leaving open the possibility that the newly developed Ukrainian Palianytsia rocket drone could have been used.

Earlier, the Ukrainian General Staff confirmed that Ukrainian forces struck a Russian military arsenal in Tikhoretsk, Krasnodar Krai, causing detonation and mass destruction.

The SBU targeted the 23rd arsenal of the Russian Defense Ministry’s Main Artillery Directorate near the village of Oktyabrsky in the Tver region, which was “one of the key storage facilities in the Russian military’s logistics system,” the General Staff added.
