Ukraine Proposes Sharing Anti-Drone Experience With Lithuania Amid Rising Russian Air Threats

The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Andrii Hnatov, met with his Lithuanian counterpart, Rear Admiral Giedrius Premeneckas on November 1. During the discussion, Lieutenant General Hnatov offered to share Ukraine's experience in countering unmanned aerial vehicles.
As reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine via Facebook, this initiative is part of Ukraine's commitment to sharing practical defense experience in all relevant areas.
Hnatov also addressed recent air incidents, criticizing the Russian Federation's aerial activities in the airspace of Poland and the Scandinavian states, as well as the intrusion of two Russian aircraft into Lithuanian airspace. He observed that these actions reflect the confidence of Russia's leadership in its impunity and represent an effort to extend the war to NATO's eastern perimeter.

During the meeting, the Chief of the General Staff provided Premeneckas with an update on the current situation on the front lines. He underscored the continued need to enhance the protection of Ukraine's airspace against ongoing missile and drone attacks by the Russian military.
Finally, Hnatov expressed gratitude to Lithuania for its consistent political and comprehensive military support to Ukraine.
Earlier, it was reported that Lithuanian Seimas Speaker Juozas Olekas believes the Baltic States need to upgrade their air defense strategy. Rather than only intercepting Russian planes and Belarusian drones that violate their airspace, he stated they must gain the capability to shoot them down.
