The visit will include stops in both Moscow and Kyiv, with meetings in Ukraine expected in the coming days as part of broader diplomatic efforts surrounding Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The upcoming discussions follow a prior conversation between Zelenskyy and US representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner regarding their planned visit to Ukraine.

Ukrainian officials expressed expectations that the meetings in Ukraine will be substantive and conducted at a high level. Zelenskyy also previously noted that the planned visits to both Russia and Ukraine by the US envoys could bring changes during September.

"We expect a meeting in the coming days. This is very important. It is important that America remains active moving forward. We are ready to meet with them in Ukraine—at a proper level and substantively."

In the meantime, Russian forces launched a drone strike on a Coca-Cola production plant in the Kyiv region on September 3, causing a major fire at one of the largest beverage manufacturing facilities in Europe.

Zelenskyy addressed the strike in his evening video statement, emphasizing that Russian forces had been fully aware they were targeting a major American commercial asset.

The attack occurred during a broader daytime assault on the capital region that involved strike drones, causing a severe blaze at the facility located in Velyka Dymerka.
