Russia Hits Odesa and Kyiv Region Overnight, Injuring 19 Including Three Children

Russian attacks on Odesa and the Kyiv region overnight into September 3 injured at least 19 people, including three children, while damaging residential buildings, warehouses, businesses, and other civilian infrastructure, according to local authorities.

In Odesa, at least 17 people, including three children, were injured in the overnight attack, according to Serhii Lysak, head of the Odesa City Military Administration.

Lysak said all those injured were receiving the necessary medical assistance.

The attack damaged apartments between the 10th and 17th floors of a 21-story residential building. Vehicles were also damaged, while authorities continued documenting the destruction caused by the strike.

Emergency response operations remain underway at the site, with municipal crews and other relevant services working to address the consequences of the attack.

Meanwhile, Russian strikes also caused casualties and damage in the Kyiv region. Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, said a man sustained shrapnel wounds in the Boryspil district and was hospitalized for treatment.

The attack also damaged warehouses, an administrative building, a store, and several small commercial structures in the district. Emergency services are working at the affected sites, while authorities continue to assess and document the damage.

A second person was injured in the Obukhiv district later in the morning. According to Tkachenko, a woman suffered an acute stress reaction and received medical assistance at the scene.

A private house also caught fire in the Obukhiv district as a result of the attack, while a vehicle was damaged.

The overnight strikes follow a series of recent Russian aerial attacks on both regions. Russian aerial attacks targeted Kyiv and Odesa, with previous strikes hitting a university in the Ukrainian capital while classes were underway and damaging residential buildings and infrastructure in the southern port city.
