Russian Drones Hit Kyiv University During Classes and Two Schools in Odesa

Russian forces struck Kyiv and Odesa in separate aerial attacks, hitting a university in the capital during classes and damaging infrastructure and residential buildings in the southern port city.

In Kyiv, Russian Shahed-type drones struck a university while classes were underway, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

“Today, Russian ‘shaheds’ struck one of the universities in Kyiv—right during classes. Fortunately, the students were in the shelter—160 students,” Zelenskyy said.

No casualties among the students were reported in the information provided.

Meanwhile, Odesa came under another large-scale Russian aerial attack, damaging residential buildings, infrastructure, offices, and educational facilities, according to Serhii Lysak, head of the Odesa City Military Administration.

Lysak said eight people were injured in the attack, including a child, with two of the victims hospitalized.

A 24-story residential building was damaged, with apartments destroyed on several floors. Windows were shattered in nearby buildings, while vehicles were also damaged.

The attack also damaged office buildings and two educational institutions. Emergency and municipal services are working at several sites across the city, while specialists continue to assess the full extent of the damage.

Energy crews are also working to restore electricity supplies as quickly as possible, Lysak said.

The latest strikes come amid a sustained Russian aerial campaign against the Ukrainian capital and surrounding region. Russia has targeted Kyiv and the Kyiv region for seven consecutive days, with recent drone attacks damaging residential buildings, warehouses, and other civilian infrastructure and leaving several people injured.
