“Human Safari” Terror in Kherson—Russian Drone Hits Taxi, Injuring 2 Young Girls

Five people, including two children, were injured after a Russian drone struck a taxi in Kherson on September 1, the Kherson Regional Military Administration reported.

According to regional authorities, the attack occurred at around 1:40 p.m. in the city’s Korabelnyi district. Three adults and two children were injured in the strike.
The two children, girls aged 11 and two, suffered concussions, blast injuries, and closed head injuries. The 11-year-old also sustained shrapnel wounds to her abdomen and legs.
The taxi driver, a 46-year-old man, and two women aged 32 and 36 were also injured. All three were diagnosed with concussions, blast injuries, and closed head injuries. The girls’ mothers additionally suffered shrapnel wounds to their legs.
All five victims were hospitalized and remain under medical supervision. Regional authorities described their conditions as moderate.
The September 1 strike follows a deadly Russian drone attack on civilian transport in Kherson less than two weeks earlier. On August 19, Russian forces struck a civilian minibus with an FPV drone, killing four people and injuring at least five others, according to Yaroslav Shanko, head of the Kherson City Military Administration.
That attack also occurred in the city’s Korabelnyi district, at approximately 8:50 a.m. The victims included three women aged 89, 71, and 63, as well as a 69-year-old man. Local authorities said the oldest victim was one month away from her 90th birthday.
Kherson has also faced continued Russian attacks on its critical infrastructure. On August 26, Russian forces hit the Kherson Combined Heat and Power Plant (CHP) with a guided aerial bomb, significantly damaging the facility, according to Ukraine’s state-owned energy company Naftogaz.
