Russian forces shelled Kherson’s Korabelnyi district on the morning of October 24, killing three civilians and injuring at least 19, according to local authorities.

The Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office said: “As of 10:20, one more woman’s death has been confirmed, bringing the number of those killed by the massive shelling of Kherson to three,” and initially reported 14 wounded. Later updates from the Kherson regional administration raised the total number of injured to 19, including children.

Regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin reported that a 16-year-old boy suffered “a blast injury, concussion and shrapnel wounds to the torso and face,” adding: “The ambulance brigade delivered the boy to the hospital. He is in the reliable hands of our medics.” Prokudin also confirmed that residential buildings—both multi-storey and private homes—were damaged, with emergency services on site.

Kherson’s municipal military administration and prosecutors detailed additional casualties through the day, including two girls aged 15 and 17 with blast injuries and concussions, and adults ranging from 31 to 83 with mine-blast and head injuries.

Authorities said one of the women killed had been inside a route taxi at the time of the strike. Law enforcement opened a war-crimes investigation into the attack.

Local officials attributed the morning assault to Russian fire on residential areas of the Korabelnyi district. Photographs and video published by the administration showed shattered windows and burned vehicles.

Earlier, it was reported that Russian forces struck Kherson and the wider region, killing at least three civilians, while shelling in the Korabelnyi district injured a 71-year-old woman and a separate strike in the Dnipro district wounded a 64-year-old woman.
