Ukraine Ready for US Partnership Regardless of Election Outcome, Says Zelenskyy
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is prepared to cooperate with any political force in the United States, including the Republican Party, should it come to power.
He made these remarks during a press conference with Ukrainian journalists in Kyiv on Monday, July 15.
The head of state emphasized that Kyiv will continue to develop relations with the United States regardless of the results of the upcoming presidential elections and the composition of Congress.
"When it comes to ending the war, I understand the general vision of one of the presidential candidates, Mr. Trump. I believe that if Mr. Donald Trump becomes president, we will work together. I am not afraid of this," he underscored.
Zelenskyy noted that among Republicans, there are varying positions, including "more right-wing, radical" ones.
"But I want to emphasize: the majority within the Republican Party supports Ukraine and the Ukrainian people," he concluded.
Separately, the President commented on the threat of losing US aid in the event of Trump's election, stating that the €40 billion support for 2025, agreed upon at the NATO summit, will not be reconsidered.
