Ukraine’s armed forces successfully struck a Russian Zoopark-M1 1L260 counter-battery radar system. The 15th Separate Artillery Brigade’s press service released a video on December 11 showcasing the strike.

The Russian radar system was targeted as it emerged from a tree line and began deploying to an operational position.

According to Militarnyi news outlet, it appears that the Russian Zoopark-M1 radar was likely struck by two precision-guided GMLRS rockets fired from HIMARS or M270 systems supplied to Ukraine by its Western allies.

At the same time, drone footage does not provide a clear assessment of the extent of damage sustained by the radar system. However, given the precision of the strike, it is likely that the Zoopark-M1 suffered at least significant damage.

The brigade’s post does not specify when, where, or with which weapon systems Ukraine's Defense Forces struck the radar.

The Zoopark-M1 is a Russian radar system designed for reconnaissance and fire control of artillery missile systems. It identifies the firing positions of enemy artillery, rocket launchers, and mortars by analyzing the trajectories of their projectiles.

Previously, the Ukrainian military intelligence successfully eliminated a Russian 1L219M Zoopark-1 counter-battery radar system, the Ukrainian Intelligence announced on November 28.
