Ukrainian naval drones successfully targeted Russian assets in Crimea, reportedly destroying surveillance systems on gas platforms near the coast of the temporarily occupied peninsula.
According to Vice Admiral Oleksiy Neizhpapa, Commander of the Ukrainian Navy, the unmanned naval units executed precision strikes against Russian military installations. “The naval drones of the Navy unit conducted accurate strikes on Russian targets,” Neizhpapa announced on Facebook.
The Ukrainian Navy confirmed that the operation resulted in the destruction of Russian surveillance equipment positioned on gas platforms near Crimea. These platforms have been under Russian control since the annexation of the peninsula.
“Efforts to disrupt enemy activity in the Black Sea are ongoing. We will not allow the occupiers to remain on our territory and will reach them wherever necessary,” Neizhpapa stated, underscoring the continued focus of Ukrainian forces on regaining control over strategic areas.
Earlier, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, expressed confidence in reclaiming Crimea, emphasizing its strategic importance.
Syrskyi highlighted the destruction of Russian radar and missile systems in Sevastopol and the critical objective of targeting the Kerch Bridge. He noted Ukraine’s innovative use of drones and emerging technologies, including unmanned systems and robotic ground vehicles, to counter Russia’s superior resources.
