The bodies of 502 fallen Ukrainian soldiers were returned to Ukrainian-controlled territory, according to a report from the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War on November 29.

Among them, 397 came from the Donetsk region, 24 from the Luhansk region, and 64 from the Zaporizhzhia region.

Additionally, 17 bodies were repatriated from morgues in Russian-controlled territory.

The return of the bodies followed coordinated efforts between the Coordination Headquarters, the Central Civil-Military Cooperation Office of the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff, the Joint Center of the SBU, Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ombudsman’s Office, the Secretariat of the Commissioner for Persons Missing in Special Circumstances, various units of Ukraine’s Security and Defense Sector, and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

The Coordination Headquarters also stated that, in collaboration with expert institutions, they will work to promptly identify the fallen soldiers.

Earlier, on November 8, the bodies of 563 Ukrainian soldiers were also returned to Ukraine.
