Ukraine Repels Major Russian Assault Near Kurakhove, Donetsk Region
The 79th Tavrian Air Assault Brigade of Ukraine successfully thwarted another significant Russian advance near Kurakhove in Donetsk Region, according to a report by the Airborne Assault Troops Command on July 30.
Moscow has intensified its offensive in the Kurakhove and Pokrovsk sectors in eastern Ukraine, with Ukrainian military officials describing the situation as “tense and difficult.”
In the latest attack, Russian forces employed a variety of military equipment, including 10 tanks, 47 armored vehicles, 10 motorcycles, and a buggy.
The Airborne Assault Troops Command released a video of the battle, highlighting that Ukrainian forces effectively halted the Russian assault, inflicting 68 casualties, with 36 Russian soldiers killed and 32 injured.
Additionally, Ukrainian forces destroyed 12 armored vehicles, eight tanks, nine motorcycles, and one buggy during the encounter.
General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, in its daily briefing, noted that the airborne troops repelled 21 attacks in the Kurakhove sector.
Previously, Russia launched one of its largest ground offensives near Kurakhove since the onset of the full-scale invasion to Ukraine. Ukrainian forces managed to repel this attack as well, as reported by the 79th Brigade’s press center.
