Ukraine has disclosed the technical specifications of its “Palianytsia” rocket drone for the first time at the MSPO 2025 defense exhibition in Poland. The system, first announced on Ukraine’s Independence Day in August 2024, had remained classified until now.

According to Defense Express on August 2, the Palianytsia weighs 320 kilograms, including up to 100 kilograms of payload. Its maximum range is 650 kilometers, with an operational altitude between 15 and 500 meters.

The system is guided by GPS and an inertial navigation system. Launch is carried out with a solid-fuel booster before transitioning to a jet engine. Notably, the drone’s speed can reach 900 kilometers per hour, a figure comparable to Russia’s Kh-101 cruise missile.

The Palianytsia measures 3.5 meters in length with a wingspan of 1.7 meters. The latest render shows a redesigned wing structure, while the fuselage and tail configuration remain unchanged.

There has been no official confirmation of combat use, photographs, or wreckage of the Palianytsia.

However, earlier reports suggested it may have been involved in a strike on an ammunition depot in the Russian city of Toropets. By contrast, another Ukrainian drone-missile, the “Peklo,” has already seen confirmed battlefield deployment.

Earlier, on December 20, 2024, Lithuanian Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas confirmed Vilnius’ readiness to invest in the production of Ukraine’s long-range Palianytsia drone-missile. The decision followed intergovernmental consultations in Kyiv, where both sides also discussed reconstruction, trade, EU and NATO integration, and sanctions against Russia.
