Day 5 of the 2024 Paralympic Games brings Ukraine an additional 8 medals, 2 of which are golden.

Denys Ostapchenko one the gold in swimming 50m backstroke (S3 class), and Ihor Tsvietov won the gold in the 100m race in athletics (T35 class).

Ukrainian athletes won 2 additional silver medals, with Andrii Trusov securing a medal in the 400-meter freestyle (S7 class), and Illia Yaremenko also earning another silver in the 50-meter freestyle (S13 class).

Four Bronze medals will be brought home by Serhii Palamarchuk in the 50-meter backstroke (S3 class), Oleksii Virchenko in the 50-meter freestyle (S13 class), Oleksandr Lytvynenko in the long jump (T36 class), and Zoia Ovsii in the discus throw (F51 class).

As of 9 am (GMT+3), September 3, Ukraine has earned 35 medals in total, 5 gold, 12 silver, and 18 bronze, placing it at the 10th place in the Paralympics medal table.

The 2024 Paralympic Games will be held in Paris from August 28 to September 8. This year Ukraine sent its largest-ever team to the Paralympics, with 140 athletes competing in 17 of the 22 sports.
