Ukraine Shields 1,176 Kilometers of Supply Routes From Russian Drone Attacks

Ukraine has installed anti-drone protection across more than 1,170 kilometers of logistics routes in frontline regions. It has doubled the daily construction pace compared with 2025.

Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced the figures on Telegram on May 18.

"Such solutions ensure stable logistics, rapid supply of resources, and safe evacuation of the wounded even under enemy fire," Fedorov wrote.

According to Fedorov, the daily construction rate has risen from 4 to 8.5 kilometers since last year. Between February and April alone, crews installed 430 kilometers of anti-drone protection and restored 106 kilometers of roads.

Road restoration work is currently underway in five regions. More than 60 kilometers have already been rebuilt, including three completed sections along the Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv directions.

"In modern war, logistics determines the resilience of the front. Protected logistics — saved lives," the minister added.

The expansion comes as Russian forces continue to scale up FPV drone strikes against Ukrainian transport routes near the line of contact.

In April, Fedorov disclosed that crews were installing more than 25 kilometers of anti-drone netting along two strategically important routes in Donetsk region, working at roughly one kilometer per day.

The broader program is targeted at 4,000 kilometers of protected roads by the end of 2026, with priority given to routes sustaining frontline logistics and communities near the line of contact.

By the close of 2025, the State Special Transport Service had constructed 534 kilometers of anti-drone protection across seven frontline regions, including Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Kyiv.
