Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a successful overnight strike on the Primorsko-Akhtarsk airfield in Russia’s Krasnodar region, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on February 6.

The military confirmed direct hits and explosions at the target site, sparking a fire. According to the General Staff, the full extent of the damage is still being assessed.

The airfield serves as an operational hub for Russian aviation assets, storing, preparing, and launching Shahed-type drones for attacks against Ukraine.

It also supports Russian aircraft operating in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.

Andrii Kovalenko, Head of Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation, added that one of the Shahed drone warehouses was located near the airfield.

Earlier, a Ukrainian drone strike targeted a key Russian oil depot in the Krasnodar region, igniting multiple fuel tanks.
