Ukraine Strikes Russian S-400 Anti Aircraft System

According to Ukraine’s General Staff report on May 23, Ukrainian forces successfully targeted a Russian S-400 air defense system on May 23.

Additionally, Ukraine’s Air Force and rocket and artillery units struck two Russian artillery pieces, two drone control stations, two command posts, an electronic warfare station, and a Su-25 aircraft.

Details regarding the extent of damage inflicted upon the air defense system and its specific location were not provided by the General Staff.

The S-400 Triumph air defense system, a modern Russian asset, is estimated to cost around $1.2 billion.

Previously in mid-April, Ukraine’s military intelligence (HUR) reported the destruction of four S-400 launchers and other equipment during an attack on a Russian military airfield in temporarily occupied Crimea.
