The combat trial, held several months ago, saw the missile hit its target. Armed with a 1,150-kilogram warhead and boasting a range of more than 3,000 kilometers, the Flamingo is designed to strike deep inside Russia, giving Ukraine the ability to destroy high-value targets far from the front lines.
Officials have not disclosed when the missile could be deployed for combat use.
Previously, Ukrainian photographer Efrem Lukatsky published the first images of the new long-range cruise missile “Flamingo,” which has reportedly entered serial production.
The photographs, taken on August 14 at a facility of the Ukrainian defense company Fire Point, show the missile in assembly.
