Ukraine Tracks Russia’s “Oreshnik” Move Into Belarus—and Is Warning Allies

Ukraine has identified where Russia plans to deploy the “Oreshnik” system on Belarusian territory and is already sharing that intelligence with international partners, President Zelenskyy said during a joint press conference with his Polish counterpart, Karol Nawrocki, according to RBC-Ukraine on December 19.

“The relocation of ‘Oreshnik’ to the territory of Belarus is nearing completion. We understand where it will be deployed—where the placement will be. We are sharing this information with our partners. I think our partners can assess this threat themselves and understand how to respond,” Zelenskyy said.
The Ukrainian president stressed that the system poses risks beyond Ukraine alone.
“This is a threat to many countries. ‘Oreshnik’ cannot be shot down by drones. The Russians used it against Ukraine, so we know how to deal with it,” he added.

Zelenskyy did not disclose specific technical details about the system or its exact location but indicated that Ukraine’s allies now have sufficient information to evaluate the potential danger posed by the deployment.
Earlier, reports emerged that Ukraine’s Security Service and military intelligence destroyed one of Russia’s top-secret “Oreshnik” strategic missile systems during a covert operation at the Kapustin Yar testing range.
