Ukrainian defense company TENETA has developed a new lightweight, single-use anti-drone device designed to counter enemy FPV drones and reconnaissance quadcopters.
According to the company’s official announcement, the MITLA net launcher is intended for frontline use and provides short-range drone interception using a rapidly deploying entanglement net.
Weighing just 365 grams, the MITLA launcher measures 200 mm in height and 40 mm in diameter, allowing for easy storage in a pouch, backpack, or uniform pocket.
The system operates manually and requires no external power or setup. To activate it, the user aims and fires, releasing a net that entangles the drone’s rotors mid-flight.

TENETA reports that MITLA is effective in both high and low temperatures, maintaining consistent performance across a range of environmental conditions. The launcher is equipped with a 7.62 mm pyrotechnic cartridge, which provides the propulsion for the net. Due to the force of the recoil, operators are advised to use both hands during deployment.
The net itself measures 3.5 by 3.5 meters, with an effective range of up to 25 meters. According to the developers, these specifications allow the device to disrupt drone flight paths during close-range combat or while defending fortified positions.
Earlier, Ukraine’s Brave1 defense cluster introduced specialized anti-drone ammunition for standard infantry rifles. The rounds, which resemble regular 5.45 mm cartridges, are designed to fragment mid-air, increasing the chances of hitting fast-moving FPV drones. Already codified for use, the ammo is being distributed to frontline soldiers as part of a broader layered defense strategy.
