Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense has officially codified and approved for use a portable electronic warfare device known as the "Anti-Drone Pistol," designed to counter hostile FPV drones targeting Ukrainian soldiers, according to an announcement published on the Ministry’s official page on May 27.

The device is marketed as a personal protection tool for soldiers, using radio-frequency interference to disrupt the control channels of enemy drones. Now listed on the Brave1 Market defense platform , the Anti-Drone Pistol is available for purchase at 85,000 UAH (approximately $2,150).

According to specifications, it operates at frequencies between 700–1000 MHz with an output power of 50 watts. The effective jamming range is up to 100 meters (about 328 feet), with an operational battery life of 60 minutes. Compact and lightweight, it weighs just over 1 kg (around 2.2 pounds) and features a monolithic design.

However, the specified frequency range does not cover all the channels commonly used by FPV drones. For example, Russian drone operators also utilize lower bands like 290–340 MHz and higher ones such as 950–1100 MHz, which remain unaffected by this device.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces are also deploying net guns in pistol form to offer physical countermeasures against attack drones. During basic training sessions in March, recruits were introduced to a net-launching pistol developed by the Ukrainian company Ptashka Drones.

This net gun launches a 3.5 x 3.5 meter mesh up to 30 meters, with maximum net expansion reached at around 15 meters, offering a non-electronic method to disable incoming drones.

Previously, it was reported that Ukraine has developed a new multi-purpose strike drone named Batyar, capable of covering distances of over 800 kilometers (497 miles). The UAV is produced by Ukrainian company DeepStrikeTech, which shared technical details with the military outlet Militarnyi on May 23.
