Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha reiterated Ukraine's readiness to engage in peace talks under any format, provided Russia agrees to a long-term ceasefire. He shared this statement on X on April 30.

"Ukraine once again confirms its readiness for peace talks in any format as soon as we see that Russia is truly prepared for the difficult path to peace, rather than just peace populism or a brief propaganda ceasefire for the May 9 parade," the post reads.

Sybiha emphasized that Russia could demonstrate its true willingness for peace talks by agreeing to a genuine ceasefire for at least 30 days.

"Russia can demonstrate its genuine readiness for peace talks by agreeing to a real ceasefire for at least 30 days. If Russia is ready for a 60- or 90-day ceasefire, we are too," concluded the Foreign Minister.

On April 19, 2025, Russian leader Vladimir Putin declared a Easter ceasefire lasting 30 hours. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia was attempting to create the impression of a general ceasefire, but in some areas, it continues localized offensives and inflicts losses on Ukrainian forces.

On April 28, Putin announced on April 28 a ceasefire in Ukraine during the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory Day, according to a statement from the Kremlin press service.
