Ukrainian military intelligence reported that its forces carried out a special operation in occupied Melitopol, targeting a Russian vehicle used by drone operators.

According to the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense (HUR), the incident occurred on September 27 inside a closed Russian military base located on the territory of the Melitopol air town in Zaporizhzhia region. The base was guarded at the time of the explosion.

HUR stated that the operation resulted in the destruction of a UAZ military vehicle, commonly known as a “bukhanka,” with at least four Russian servicemen inside.

The individuals killed were identified as operators of unmanned aerial vehicles. Ukrainian intelligence also published video footage confirming the strike.

Earlier, Ukraine’s military intelligence announced the first-ever destruction of two Russian Be-12 Chaika anti-submarine aircraft in occupied Crimea. The rare Soviet-era planes, along with a Mi-8 helicopter, were reportedly hit by the Prymary special unit during a precision strike.
