Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue to counter Russian artillery, inflicting significant losses. According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, around 13,000 Russian artillery systems have been destroyed since the beginning of 2024, surpassing the figures of previous years.

By February 2024, total Russian losses include 23 artillery systems and 1,269 multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS). These losses reflect the growing effectiveness of Ukraine’s counter-battery operations and drone technology in targeting enemy positions.

Syrskyi emphasized that Ukraine’s artillery and drone units have been instrumental in this shift, stating that their coordinated efforts have significantly disrupted Russian firepower.

“Effective counter-battery work by Ukrainian artillery and the large-scale use of drone units have practically nullified the initial dominance of Russian occupying forces' artillery on the battlefield,” Syrskyi noted.

Previously, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, said that Ukraine’s operation in Russia’s Kursk region significantly boosted the morale of both the military and society, hoping this won’t be Ukraine’s last offensive.
