The 12th Special Operations Brigade Azov of the National Guard of Ukraine has officially begun accepting foreign volunteers into its ranks, the brigade announced on December 23.

“Service in 'Azov' represents modern military standards, professionalism, as well as brotherhood and mutual respect. Fighters from around the world have already joined our ranks, standing shoulder to shoulder with Ukrainians against the aggressor,” the brigade stated.

The brigade offers recruits access to advanced weaponry, high-quality training, and the camaraderie of motivated comrades-in-arms.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law enabling foreigners and stateless individuals to hold officer positions within the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The Ukrainian Parliament also passed a new law that allows citizenship to be granted to foreign nationals currently defending Ukraine against Russian aggression, establishing a legal framework for the process.
