Ukraine’s Military Intelligence Medics Stage Large-Scale Helicopter Evacuation, Video

Ukrainian military intelligence medical teams have carried out a large-scale evacuation of wounded personnel using helicopters, according to the Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense (HUR) on August 9.
The operation involved four helicopters that transported severely injured members of HUR. Medical assistance was provided during the flight, including to those unable to move.
“We are always ready for any situation. We have all the necessary equipment to save lives, provide life support, and deliver medical care directly in the helicopter,” a medic with the call sign “Turyst” said.
HUR noted that its aerial medical evacuation service, launched in 2023, has saved more than 600 lives among Ukraine’s defense and security forces.
The service also supports civilian evacuations. On March 1, at the request of the Security Service of Ukraine, a helicopter transported a critically ill girl from Zaporizhzhia to Kyiv, where she was admitted to hospital within hours.

The program was made possible through public fundraising, including the “Donate to Evacuate” campaign initiated by students of the Kyiv School of Economics in 2023. Contributions came from students, educators, businesses, and private donors. One helicopter was fully funded by the Olena Zelenska Foundation.
HUR’s air medical teams continue daily operations, providing rapid evacuation and in-flight medical support for both military personnel and civilians.
Earlier, Ukraine’s National Guard 13th Brigade “Khartia” used its “Zmiy-500” unmanned ground vehicle to deliver supplies and evacuate a wounded soldier over a 34-kilometer route in frontline conditions, according to the brigade’s press service.
