Ukrainian Intelligence Wipes Out 330+ Russian Troops in Behind-Lines Stealth Operation Near Sumy

Ukrainian military intelligence units have successfully halted a Russian advance in the Sumy region, inflicting significant personnel losses during a large-scale special operation behind enemy lines, according to a statement by the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense (HUR).
The operation was led by the “Timur” special unit and involved a coordinated series of raids and sabotage actions against Russian positions.
Ukrainian forces engaged in close-quarters combat, supported by artillery strikes and FPV drone attacks. The reported outcome included at least 334 Russian personnel killed and more than 550 wounded, amounting to the equivalent of eight infantry companies.
The objective of the operation was to disrupt Russian logistics and stop the enemy’s forward movement toward the region. HUR confirmed that the supply lines delivering provisions and ammunition to Russian units in the area were effectively severed.
Troop deployment for the operation included helicopter insertions and fire support from the Art Division, which utilized 155-mm “Bohdana” howitzers.
The participating Ukrainian units included “Himera,” “Younger,” “Stuhna,” “Siberian Battalion,” “Aratta,” “1514,” “Paragon,” “First Line,” “Raven Group,” BDK, and the “6th Special Operations Unit,” all operating under the “Timur” formation of the HUR.
Geospatial analysis by open-source intelligence group WarArchive indicated that one of the operational zones was located near the village of Oleksiivka. According to analysts, Ukrainian forces successfully infiltrated Russian rear positions, neutralized enemy units, and established control over the area.

Radio intercepts cited by Ukrainian intelligence suggest that Russian troops, citing various excuses, refused to launch further assaults against positions held by the “Timur” unit.
Video footage released by HUR shows key phases of the mission, including rapid deep-strike raids, artillery and grenade launcher operations, precise drone strikes, and direct infantry engagements.
According to Ukrainian officials, the operation has temporarily stabilized the front in the Sumy region and disrupted Russia’s offensive efforts in the area.
Earlier, Ukraine’s military intelligence obtained a full set of classified documents related to Russia’s newest Borei-A class nuclear submarine, Knyaz Pozharsky—including crew rosters, combat manuals, engineering schematics, and internal operational protocols—offering unprecedented insight into one of the cornerstone assets of Russia’s strategic nuclear fleet.
