Ukraine’s New TM-2025 Anti-Tank Mine With 3D-Printed Trigger Spotted on the Battlefield
A new Ukrainian-produced anti-tank mine designated TM-2025 has been spotted on the battlefield. The mine appears to be a modernized version of the Soviet-era TM-62, incorporating updated features designed to increase its effectiveness and versatility.
According to Defense Express on April 29, the TM-2025 retains the general design of its predecessor but includes several notable improvements.
These include a more refined body shape with smoother contours and a built-in slot for installing an auxiliary side-mounted detonator. This modification allows for additional triggering mechanisms, making the mine more difficult to disarm and easier to repurpose for other applications.

The mine is fitted with a newly developed Ukrainian-made electromechanical fuse, the MPEM-1, which replaces the traditional MVCh-62 or MVP-62 fuses used in the TM-62. While detailed information about the MPEM-1 is limited, video footage suggests that some components of the fuse are produced using 3D printing technology.
The fuse also contains a battery and electronic elements, which may include an electromagnetic field sensor for triggering detonation when a vehicle passes overhead, or a mechanism that activates the mine after a specific number of pressure events.
The TM-2025 is designed not only for conventional anti-tank roles but also for adaptive uses. Its structure supports easy conversion into airdropped munitions for drones or explosive charges for engineering operations.

Ukrainian forces have previously adapted TM-62 mines for use in loitering ground drones, such as the Ratel S, which entered production in 2023.
Earlier, Ukraine unveiled the “Bars” missile drone—a privately developed, medium-range weapon capable of striking targets up to 800 kilometers inside Russian territory. Designed for mass production, Bars joins a growing fleet of Ukrainian-made cruise and drone-missiles, including Peklo, Palianytsia, and Ruta.
