Ukrainian artillery crews have reportedly set a world record for the range of conventional field artillery, striking a target 70 kilometers away, reports Defense24.

A recent article discusses the integration of the Polish Krab self-propelled howitzers with the high-precision Vulcano GLR guided shells. Ukrainian forces are mentioned in the article for their role in achieving this milestone.

According to the report, Ukrainian artillery crews operating the Polish-made Krab howitzers were tasked with hitting a target at a distance of 70 kilometers. Polish analysts believe this demonstrates that the Krab howitzers used in Ukraine are now capable of firing Vulcano GLR shells.

However, the article does not provide details about the results of the 70-kilometer strike, nor does it specify when or where the event occurred.

The Defense Express portal noted that achieving a 70-kilometer range with a standard 155mm gun is a record in the context of actual combat operations rather than controlled testing ranges.

The report also highlighted that the Vulcano GLR shells have now been integrated with the K9 self-propelled howitzers, marking another significant advancement for Polish weaponry.
