Ukrainian Assault Units Advance 1.6 km in Donetsk Counteroffensive, Secure Ground in Pokrovsk District

Ukrainian assault units have achieved new tactical gains in Donetsk region, advancing up to 1.6 kilometers in several directions, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported via Telegram on October 14.
“Assault units have advanced up to 1.6 kilometers in specific directions. I thank all Ukrainian defenders who continue to destroy the enemy. I especially want to acknowledge the troops of the 33rd Separate Assault Brigade and the 253rd Battalion,” said Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi.
According to the General Staff, Ukrainian troops carried out search-and-destroy missions across 3.4 square kilometers in the Pokrovsk district over the past 24 hours, as Russian forces failed to advance.
As of the morning of October 13, Ukrainian forces have liberated 182.4 square kilometers since the start of the Dobropillia operation, with an additional 224.7 square kilometers cleared of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups.
Earlier, Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi said Ukrainian forces have encircled and are eliminating Russian units that moved forward near Pokrovsk, following weeks of intense combat that pushed the front line to the north.
