Troops from the National Guard of Ukraine’s “Khartiia” Brigade killed approximately 70 Russian soldiers north of Kharkiv, the unit wrote in Facebook on January 15.

Footage released by the brigade on January shows the strikes carried out in this sector of the front, recorded by Ukrainian drones.

Military officials said Russian forces had been attempting assault operations in the brigade’s area of responsibility for about a week.

Based on the published video, the majority of the losses were inflicted using FPV drones and drones deploying explosive munitions.

Ukrainian operators struck both individual Russian troops moving across open ground and enemy positions where they were trying to establish footholds.

Artillery units were also involved, operating in coordination with Khartiia’s infantry and drone teams.

Earlier, Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces eliminated six Russian air defense and radar assets over a 48-hour period in temporarily occupied parts of the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.

In a statement Unmanned Systems Forces Commander Robert “Madyar” Brovdi said the operations took place between January 12 and 14, 2026, and involved mid-range strike capabilities used against targets in the operational depth of Russian positions. The strikes hit critical components of Russia’s multi-layered air defense system located well behind the front line.
