Ukrainian Drones Ignite Massive Blaze at Key Russian Fuel Hub in Occupied Luhansk

In the temporarily occupied eastern Ukrainian city of Luhansk, a large-scale fire broke out after a strike by Ukrainian drones on a fuel depot, Militarnyi reported on February 27, citing OSINT channels and a Ukrainian drone brigade.
The attack took place after midnight, with local witnesses reporting several explosions. Videos and photos from the scene showed a massive blaze and a large column of black smoke visible from a distance, according to the OSINT channel Exilenova.
Local social media reported power outages in the area following the attack. The fuel depot, which is used by the Russian army, was struck by drones from the 1st Separate UAV Center of Ukraine’s Defense Forces, Militarnyi wrote.
Ukrainian military officials noted that reducing fuel supplies limits the enemy’s ability to maneuver, rotate forces, and support offensive actions.

This marks the second attack on the Luhansk fuel depot in recent weeks, following a similar strike on February 22, which also resulted in a large fire, according to Militarnyi.
The depot serves as a key logistical hub for supplying fuel to Russian forces operating in the Kupiansk and Kramatorsk regions. It has been targeted multiple times, including by ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles, with a notable strike occurring on May 7, 2024.
Earlier, operators of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces carried out a series of strikes against Russian military targets in temporarily occupied territories.
According to the reports, operators from the “Kairos” unit of the 414th Separate Brigade “Birds of Magyar” struck an ammunition depot near the settlement of Rozivka in the Zaporizhzhia region two days earlier.
