Ukrainian National Guard unit Lasar’s Group has destroyed three 2S7 Pion 203mm self-propelled artillery systems and a TOS-1A Solntsepyok heavy flamethrower system during a precision drone operation in the Luhansk direction, the unit reported on February 19.

The early February strike targeted high-value Russian assets positioned deep behind the front line, including long-range artillery and a thermobaric rocket system capable of devastating area bombardment.

According to the unit, aerial reconnaissance identified a resupply position for the Solntsepyok system, a command-and-control vehicle, and an artillery platoon operating within the areas of responsibility of Ukraine’s 3rd and 10th Army Corps.

Despite the depth of the targets, commanders deployed heavy strike “bomber” drones to conduct the operation.

The confirmed losses include:

  • three 2S7 Pion self-propelled artillery systems (203mm);

  • one TOS-1A Solntsepyok heavy flamethrower system;

  • one TZM-T transport-loader vehicle supporting the Solntsepyok;

  • one command-and-staff vehicle;

  • seven armored combat vehicles.

The 2S7 Pion is among the most powerful artillery systems in Russian service, designed for long-range strikes with 203mm shells.

The TOS-1A Solntsepyok, meanwhile, fires thermobaric rockets and is typically used against fortified positions.

Earlier, Ukrainian forces destroyed a rare North Korean-made M1991 multiple launch rocket system deep in Russian rear areas, marking only the second confirmed strike against the system during the full-scale war.
