Ukrainian Forces Capture Around 20 Russian Troops and Eliminate Dozens in Vovchansk
Ukrainian forces took approximately 20 Russian troops as prisoners and eliminated “several dozen more” during the liberation for the Vovchansk Aggregate Plant in Vovchansk, Kharkiv region.
The details of the operation were revealed by an officer of the HUR special unit Timur of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine with the call sign Viking.
"The battle lasted a little over a week. There was intense shelling from the enemy. The enemy at the factory put up a lot of resistance, but in the end, we completed the task," said the officer.
He confirmed that the special forces of HUR managed to capture Russian military personnel.
"At the Vovchansk Aggregate Plant, up to two dozen fighters of the enemy were captured, and several dozen were destroyed. Also, 4 occupiers tried to leave the plant and were neutralized outside the perimeter of the plant," said Viking.
Previously, on September 24, Ukrainian special forces stated that they fully liberated the territory of the Vovchansk Aggregate Plant, clearing the entire facility of Russian troops.
Russian army began their assault on Vovchansk, Kharkiv region on May 10, aiming to open up a new front in the Northern Kharkiv region. Ukrainian Forces pushed the Russian troops back, regaining full control over the majority of the city.
