Ukrainian Intelligence Units Liberate Vovchansk Factory from Russian Forces

In a successful operation, Ukrainian special forces from the Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) have fully liberated the territory of the Vovchansk Aggregate Plant in Vovchansk, Kharkiv region, clearing the entire facility of Russian troops, HUR reported on September 24.

The operation involved systematic sweeps of the factory, with Ukrainian forces at times engaging Russian soldiers in close-quarters combat. The Russian military had transformed the plant into a heavily fortified “propaganda fortress,” defended by some of its most elite and motivated units, including soldiers from the 45th Airborne Brigade of Special Forces, based in Kubinka, Moscow.

In addition to elite troops, Russian forces deployed significant firepower, including artillery, attack drones, guided bombs (KABs), and heavy flamethrower systems such as the “Solntsepyok.” Ukrainian forces succeeded in neutralizing the enemy, capturing prisoners in the process.

After clearing all 30 buildings of the industrial complex, the Ukrainian Armed Forces regained full control of the Vovchansk Aggregate Plant.

Russian army began their assault on Vovchansk, Kharkiv region on May 10, aiming to open up a new front in Northern Kharkiv region.

Ukrainian Forces pushed the Russians back, regaining full control over the majority of the city.
