Ukrainian Forces Regain Control of Dniproenerhiia and Strengthen Position in Donetsk

Lieutenant General Serhii Naiev, commander of a tactical group in one of the Donetsk region’s critical areas, announced that Ukrainian forces had regained control of the settlement of Dniproenerhiia in the Volnovakha district of Donetsk region and improved their tactical position on two key fronts. Naiev shared the update on Facebook and in a comment to Ukraiinska Pravda on April 15.
“For the second month, I’ve been commanding the tactical group. During this time, we’ve managed to reduce personnel losses by 20%, regain control of the Dniproenerhiia settlement, and improve our tactical position on two critical fronts,” he said.
In his comment to Ukraiinska Pravda, Naiev noted that the settlement was retaken around two weeks ago.

He further added that during this period, the group's units had destroyed approximately 9,500 Russian soldiers, 51 tanks, 166 armored vehicles, and 819 vehicles, including armored cars, jeeps, motorcycles, buggies, and ATVs.
Naiev also mentioned that about 70% of enemy losses were the result of UAV strikes.
He shared additional details about a recent large-scale Russian offensive along the Vesele-Skudne axis, where Russia deployed five tanks, 14 armored vehicles, and six armored cars. However, the enemy's vehicle columns were detected by aerial reconnaissance.
“As a result of fire strikes and UAV operations, more than 100 enemy soldiers were killed, and we destroyed four tanks, nine armored vehicles, and three armored cars,” he concluded.
Previously on April 1, it was reported that Russia is preparing for a large-scale offensive in Donetsk, with forces concentrating northeast of Lyman in an effort to capture both Lyman and Borova in the coming months, according to the US Institute for the Study of War.
