Ukrainian Forces to Complete Construction of Additional Defense Lines Around Zaporizhzhia Region

Ukrainian Defense Forces are constructing the second and third lines of defense around the Zaporizhzhia region, with work already in the final stages.

This was stated by Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, during a national telethon.

According to Fedorov, the first line of fortifications was completed in mid-summer, and work has now begun to strengthen other defensive positions. The second line of fortifications is nearly finished, and the third line will be ready in the coming weeks.

Fedorov emphasized that the defense of certain cities currently under construction will also be completed within the timelines set by the General Staff, although he did not specify those timelines.

Fedorov highlighted that all structures are being upgraded to ensure reliable protection, with increased focus on defense against FPV drones. Anti-drone nets and other protective elements are being installed, whereas earlier efforts concentrated solely on protection against guided bombs and artillery.

Earlier in October, it was reported by by Colonel Vladyslav Voloshyn, the spokesman of the Tavria operational-strategic group, that the Russian military is preparing for assault operations in the Zaporizhzhia direction, aiming to completely occupy the Donetsk region, as well as the city of Zaporizhzhia.
