Ukrainian FPV Drones Strike Rare Russian TOS-2 Flamethrower System, Video

Operators of the 414th Separate Brigade of Unmanned Aerial Systems have struck a rare Russian TOS-2 “Tosochka” flamethrower system, the brigade commander shared a video of the strike on his Telegram channel on March 29.
According to Militarnyi, this potentially could be the second TOS-2 lost by Russia since the start of the full-scale invasion.
The system was hit using multiple FPV drones, while an additional reconnaissance drone was used for objective damage assessment.
The video doesn’t provide enough clarity to determine whether the vehicle was destroyed or just damaged.
The news outlet noted that the impact of several FPV drones on the vehicle will at least require extensive repairs, assuming it can be evacuated from the battlefield.
Ukraine’s forces have allegedly destroyed the first TOS-2 Tosochka near Pokrovsk, Ukrainian media Tysk reported on February 16.
The TOS-2 Tosochka is an upgraded version and further development of the heavy flamethrower systems TOS-1 “Buratino” and TOS-1A “Sontsepek,” which are already in service with the Russian army.
Unlike its predecessors, which are mounted on the tracked chassis of T-72 and T-90 tanks, the TOS-2 is based on the Ural-63706 truck with a 6×6 wheel configuration, enhancing its mobility and fuel efficiency.
On March 25, operators of the 413th Specialized Battalion of Unmanned Systems “Raid” reported successfully identifying and disabling a Russian M-1978 “Koksan” self-propelled artillery system in the Donetsk direction.
