Ukrainian swimmer, Kateryna Sadurska, set a new world record at the freediving competition in the "Constant Weight Without Fins" (CNF) discipline, where the athlete dived to a depth of 80 meters.

The previous world record, 78 meters, also belonged to Kateryna.

The eighth CMAS Freediving World Championship began on October 2 in the Greek city of Kalamata. Kateryna Sadurska became the only representative from Ukraine.

Additionally, Sadurska won gold in “Free Immersion” with a result of 95 meters, and set a national record in “Constant Weight With Fins” at 103 meters.

"The first competitive day among women was scheduled for October 5, but due to weather conditions, it was postponed to the 6th. That day I dived with a monofin. It was my deepest dive and an absolute record for Ukraine, 103 meters," Sadurska said.

Kateryna Sadurska is a three-time bronze medalist of the World Championships in water sports (2013). Two-time champion and multiple prize-winner of the European championships in water sports.

"My main task at this competition is to represent Ukraine with dignity. It’s an opportunity to remind the world that the war in our country continues and that we are ready to fight, but we need support. The second, no less important part of my mission is to remind Ukrainians that we are an incredible nation with immense potential and we have something to show the world," Sadurska said.
