In a successful operation, the Ukrainian military destroyed a Russian TOR air defense complex, hidden in Olenivka. Scouts from the 79th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade used a drone to locate the system.

“Through drone reconnaissance, our forces spotted the Russian TOR anti-aircraft missile system near the Donbas Arena in Donetsk,” a military statement revealed. The drone then tracked the complex to its concealed location in an industrial building on the outskirts of Olenivka.

Ukrainian forces targeted the building with a GMLRS missile fired from a US-supplied HIMARS launcher. The strike, with high probability, directly hit or severely damaged the TOR system with projectile fragments.

This operation holds significant implications for the Ukrainian Air Forces. Disabling the TOR complex enhances the safety of Ukrainian aircraft operating in occupied territories, as the system previously posed a major threat.

The targeted TOR system was likely one of those undergoing upgrades by Russia to counter Ukrainian drone attacks and HIMARS rockets.
